UTAH for the win

Utah, of all the states, randomly could become the state by which all of the rest of the states fell.

Federal Judge Robert J. Shelby didn't issue a stay on his decision last week, allowing lgbt marriages to take place all over the state this past weekend.

On sunday, the U.S. 10th Circuit Court of Appeals denied Utah state officials their emergency request to stop same sex couples from marrying.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit in Denver was expected to rule as early as Monday on whether to halt same-sex marriages during the appeals process.

The appeals court has already refused twice to halt them, but Shelby's ruling Monday morning raises the issue again. Typically judges put stays on their decisions, but thrice already Shelby has denied a stay nor any reason to initiate a stay.

Utah and its 2.8 million residents were regarded as partially responsible for the passing of Proposition 8 in California so it only seems befitting that marriage equality has finally arrived at their doorstep.

This sets several precedents if allowed to stay in place: Utah is the most conservative of any of the already legal states to allow marriage equality.

Judge Shellby's 50+ page ruling details how the state maliciously targeted a minority group and denied them 14th amendment rights as well as right to due process.

If his ruling lasts, it echoes a sounding call for the other states to issue similar rulings. That is if this specific case doesnt go all the way to the Supreme Court of the Nation. Governor Gary Herbert says he will challenge Shelby's ruling to the highest court.

In the ruling, U.S. District Judge Robert J. Shelby said the state's constitution failed to show that same-sex marriages would impede opposite-sex marriages in any way.

"In the absence of such evidence, the State's unsupported fears and speculations are insufficient to justify the State's refusal to dignify the family relationships of its gay and lesbian citizens," Shelby wrote.

We will wait and see as marriages continue in the state!

UTAH FOR THE WIN!!!

***UPDATE***

A federal judge out of OHIO ordered Ohio authorities to recognize gay marriages on death certificates saying the state's ban on marriage equality is unconstitutional!!! One tick away from stripping Ohio of their marriage equality ban!!!

ONE STATE AT A TIME!!!
